Dominican Republic

Family and Personal News (October 2025):

The Byrds recently celebrated the birth of their 10th grandchild, Beckham Wayne Kelley, and spent time in Mountain Home, Arkansas, visiting with family.
Their daughter Darby gave birth two weeks prior to the letter date.
Their daughter Heidi's wedding is approaching, as they are heading to New Jersey next week to welcome Ethan, her husband-to-be, to the family.
Gary's 10-year anniversary as pastor of Abundant Life Baptist Church in La Vega is marked. His goal is to train up a team of leaders to assume the permanent pastor role so the church can be fully Dominican leadership.
The church is seeing spiritual and numerical growth this year, with four Pastoral Interns (Luis, Walter, Benel, and one unlisted) performing outstanding work.
Their children and family ministries are stronger than ever.

Ministry and Financial Updates (October 2025):

The ministry is focused on sustainability and leadership transition.
There is a fundraising goal of $8,000 to purchase solar panels for the church, which would eliminate electric bills for the future. They have received $3,500 towards this goal.

Recent Baptisms (February 2025):

The letter shares the good news of two recent baptisms:
Juan was saved on Sunday afternoon.
He and Maria were baptized on a Wednesday night at their midweek family growth night.
Juan returns to New York on Friday after his baptism.

Prayer Requests

Financial Support: Pray that the remaining $4,500 needed for the solar panel project will be raised, securing long-term sustainability by eliminating the church's electricity bills.
Leadership Transition: Pray for Gary and Tami as they work to transition Abundant Life Baptist Church into full Dominican leadership, and for wisdom and strength for the pastoral interns.
Church Growth: Pray for the continued spiritual and numerical growth of the church and its outreach ministries.
New Believers: Pray for Juan, Maria, and Angel, that they will continue to grow in their new faith and quickly find a strong, supportive church community (especially Juan and Angel as they return to New York).
Family: Pray for Gary, Tami, and their family as they balance ministry in the Dominican Republic with major family events, including Heidi's upcoming wedding.
